New to Cruising with Fred. Olsen?

Embarking on your first Fred. Olsen cruise will be an exciting and enjoyable experience, however, if you feel apprehensive or unsure about trying something new, Fred. Olsen will do all they can to put your mind at ease and help you settle in as quickly as possible.

Fred. Olsens' ‘New to Cruising’ programme has been created to provide you with all the information you might need during your first cruise onboard their ships. The programme includes get-togethers with other first-time cruisers and meetings with their ‘New to Cruising’ representatives.

There’s no need to worry about anything when you cruise with Fred. Olsen.

Guided ship tours: As you’ll be new to Fred. Olsen and their ships, we recommend you take the opportunity to join a guided ship tour to familiarise yourself with your new ‘home from home at sea’. Fred. Olsen's friendly staff will help you find the restaurants, bars, lounges, outside deck spaces and much more; and are happy to answer any questions you have along the way.

New to Cruising’ get together: The ‘New to Cruising’ get together is a great way of meeting fellow first-time cruisers who may have the same questions and queries as you, or people looking for new friends and companions to enjoy their holiday with. Fred. Olsen will also be there to offer some tips on how to make the most of your cruise.

‘New to Cruising’ representative: The ‘New to Cruising’ representatives will be on hand every day throughout your holiday, whether you’re enjoying a week sailing around the UK or venturing further afield on a longer voyage. Available at selected times and places, they will be happy to answer your questions and offer any advice you require.

What's included in your cruise holiday?

  • Comfortable rooms and suites with tv, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities and individually controlled air conditioning.
  • Tempting cuisine every day throughout your cruise - with five-course à la carte dinners, casual breakfast and lunch buffets and late-night snacks.
  • Self-service tea and coffee at selected venues, morning coffee with biscuits, and afternoon sandwiches and cakes.
  • In-room sandwiches and snacks.
  • All evening entertainment, including cabaret shows, live music and dancing.
  • Captain's Drinks Party and Gala Buffet.
  • Use of leisure facilities, including swimming pools, Jacuzzis and gym.
  • A wide choice of onboard activities and lectures throughout the day.
  • All UK port taxes (where collectable in advance).
  • Luggage porterage between your room and the drop-off/pick-up point.
  • Flights, as confirmed as part of a fly-cruise holiday.

And everything on board is priced in Sterling, so you don't have any worries about currency fluctuations.

Fred. Olsen's Enjoyment Promise

A holiday is precious and as a family-run cruise line, they aim to ensure that your time with them on board is very special. That is why their Chairman, Fred. Olsen Jnr., would like to offer you his Enjoyment Promise** on whichever sailing choose.

Simply book more than 12 weeks ahead on cruises of five nights or more and if, once on board, you let staff know within a couple of days of your cruise departing that it is not right for you, they will arrange for a flight back to the UK from the next available port of call and refund your cruise fare.

That is Fred. Olsen's Enjoyment Promise.


Terms & conditions

**The Enjoyment Promise excludes Party Nights and cruises for 4 or less nights.  The promise only applies to Bookings made for departures more than 12 weeks ahead. The Enjoyment Promise only applies to Passengers who have contracted with FOCL and excludes cruises on vessels operated by FOCL but booked through third Party operators. Should you wish to invoke the Enjoyment Promise, you will need to inform Guest Relations within 48 hours of the Vessel's departure from the original port of embarkation at the latest. FOCL will arrange and pay for a flight and/or transport back to the UK.  FOCL will refund the cruise cost only but will not refund other costs.
